  Weekly Update Week of February 28, 2022   1  2/28   We have Media Center. 1  3/1   We have art.        3/2   We have a late start.     3/3   We have gym.                3/4   We have music and it's a half day.  Dismissal at 12:09     Word Work: Our class will learn the /รด/ syllable pattern that makes the sound as in sm al l, dr aw , b o ss, and th ough t . Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.   March Is Reading Month:   Hooray, its Reading Month!  We are very excited for the activities that will be occurring at Lincoln School.  You will be able to see information about it here, in Mr. Hubble’s blog, or in the Weekly Agenda in our Google Classroom Classwork.  We will be doing the activities in class so the students just need to continue their great reading at home.  It will be a fun month!   Sarett

  Weekly Update Week of February 21, 2022   1  2/21   No School 1  2/22   We have art.    TwosDay Celebration!     2/23   We have a late start.     2/24   We have gym.               2/25   We have music.     Word Work: We continue to learn our new syllable pattern makes the sound as in push, could, and shook.  Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.     February 22, 2022: Next Tuesday will be a fun day as it will be 2nd grade on Twosday 2-22-22.  We plan to find fun ways to celebrate this unique calendar date with activities throughout our classroom day.   Students are invited to dress in Tutus, Ties, and Tennis Shoes.  Some fun items found around the house.  Let me know if you have any questions     Sarett Nature Center Field Trip: Our second graders will be traveling to Sarett Nature Center on March 11th in

                                  The class filled the bead jar.  They voted for an Everything Goes Day with an electronic toy day, pajama day, something soft day, time for a read in, and safe candy allowed (no tree nuts, no peanuts, and no eggs).   If this impending weather causes a snow day we will do this next Friday.  It will not be moved to Tuesday due to that being our Twosday celebration.  Please email me if you have any questions.  Thank you!

  Weekly Update Week of February 14, 2022   1  2/14   We have Media Center. 1  2/15   We have art.     2/16   We have a late start.     2/17   We have gym.                2/18   No School         Word Work: For the next two weeks our class will learn our new syllable pattern /oo/.  Push, could, and shook are examples of the sound this pattern makes in words.  Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access Unit 15 to practice the list for the week.  Valentine’s Day Reminder: We will be celebrating our P2 Word of the Week, Love in class.  No need to send anything to school tomorrow.  Thank you February 22, 2022  Next Tuesday will be a fun day as it will be 2nd grade on Twosday 2-22-22.  Stay tuned for some activities as we come back to school after a long weekend. Our syllable pattern makes the sound as in blue, moon, youth.    Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.   Khan Mappers and Prodigy: We have begun working with two new math programs. First is Khan Mappers. In this area of the Khan program, the students are given problems around their NWEA math scores. I like this for an additional practice as the math problems look like the NWEA and are tailored to the individual needs of each student. It is a neat program that I have been using for about 4-5 years. The
