  Weekly Update November 29, 2021 11/29 We have Media Center. Books are due 11/30 We have art. 12/1 Late Start  School will start at 9:25.   12/2 We have gym. 12/3 We have music.              Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe break. Please remind your student to charge their computer for tomorrow as we have 2 activities first thing in the morning that requires access to devices. Thank you! Word Work: Our class will be learning about the r-controlled syllable pattern -ar this week. Words that follow this pattern include car, start, artist, and market. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week. Weekly Math Game : Each week there will be a weekly math game to help practice fact fluency. The game will have a link here on the blog and be in our google classroom both under math games as we

  The Bead Jar is full and tomorrow we will celebrate with a movie.  We just finished reading the classic book, The Box Car Children , so tomorrow we will compare and contrast the book with the movie.   The class was told they may wear pajamas, be in socks or slippers in the classroom, bring a soft object or two, bring a clear drink, and bring a safe snack or two.    If you have any questions, please email me.  Thank you!

Words that use this pattern include light, sigh, tie, and pie. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.  Thanksgiving Luncheon: Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers at our Thanksgiving Luncheon last Wednesday. Books are due today 11/9 We have art. 11/10 Late Start  School will start at 9:25.   11/11 We have   gym.          Half Day  Dismissal 12:09 11/2 We have  music and SEL      Half Day  Dismissal 12:09 Word Work : Our class will continue learning words that follow the long e digraph syllable pattern this week.  Long e digraph syllable patterns use the following vowel teams ie, ea, and ee. The following words are examples of this pattern chief, stream, and sneeze.  Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to practice the long e digraph word list.
