Weekly Update
Week of March 7, 2022
Word Work: Our class will learn the consonant + le, al, or el syllable pattern found in words like whittle, local, and nickel . Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.
March Is Reading Month: Hooray, its Reading Month! We are very excited for the activities that will be occurring at Lincoln School. You will be able to see information about it here, in Mr. Hubble’s blog, or in the Weekly Agenda in our Google Classroom Classwork. We will be doing the activities in class so the students just need to continue their great reading at home. It will be a fun month!
Sarett Nature Center Field Trip: Our Sarett Nature Center trip is this Friday, March 11th. The bus will leave at 9:00 and return by 11:30 a.m. Since we have three second grade classes, parents will need to drive separately if planning to attend. There is a $4.00 fee for parents attending the program with us. We will be learning about maple sugaring and need to dress to be outside for much of the morning. Please email me if you are planning to attend by Thursday morning and have the necessary paperwork turned into the office.
Music Performance: Music performances are back! Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 4th. This is the day our 2nd graders will perform their show. The performance will take place at the high school. All 3 buildings will be hosting their show that night so a time is yet to be determined. Please stay tuned for more information as I receive it.
