WORD WORK: This week our class will be learning about adding the prefix un- to words as in the words unhappy, undone, and unfair.  Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 27 practice list for the week.   SJ FIELD TRIP: Thank you to our parents that were able to join us for our visit to the carousel and bluff walk. We appreciate you taking the time to enjoy this special day with our class WALKING FIELD TRIP:  Our second graders will be walking to Kiwanis Park to have an afternoon of fun with their peers on Thursday, June 2nd.  We will be taking sack lunches to eat at the park.  Orders for school sack lunc

WORD WORK: This week our class will be learning about adding suffix endings -er and -est to words as in the words big, bigger, biggest.  Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 24 practice list for the week.   SJ FIELD TRIP: FRIDAY MAY 27th  9:00 – 12:30 Lincoln’s three second grade classes will be visiting the Silver Beach Carousel, touring historical sites on the bluff, and watching the Memorial Day Parade.  The trip will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the carousel and conclude after the parade at approximately 12:30 p.m.  Our second graders will ride the carousel twice for  $2.00.  Each student is asked to bring two dollars to cover the cost if possible. 

The students filled the bead jar and have selected an outdoor toy day which we will do after our 1st recess at 11:35.   They may bring any outdoor toy that you say yes to.  Please note if they bring a bike they should also have a helmet.  In addition, we will be watching a show about plants (our current science unit) while we eat our popcorn from Popcorn Friday so they may bring a clear drink.    If they want something soft here tomorrow that is also fine.  Please email me with any questions.  Thank you!

Professional Development for teachers. 1  5/3   We have art.     5/4   We have a late start.  2nd Grade Performance at 5:30pm     5/5   We have gym.       5/6   We have music   WORD WORK: This week our class will be learning about the three sounds that -ed makes in words: /t/, /ed or id/, /d/ such as finished, acted, and yelled. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 20 practice list for the week.   Music Performance:   Our performance for parents and friends will be at the SJHS Auditorium. Students should arrive by 5:20 and the performance will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m.  Here is a link to the music blog for access to everything about the play.
