Weekly Update
Week of April 18, 2022
Word Work: Our class will be learning to form plurals by adding -s, -es, or -ies to words such as rocks, wishes, boxes, and puppies this week. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 20 practice list for the week.
Music Performance: The students have begun practicing together on stage. Here is a link to the music blog for access to everything about the play. We ordered the new hats shown on the blog and are excited for how it's going to look. We will perform on Wednesday, May 4th at 5:30 p.m. Students should arrive at the auditorium by 5:20 p.m. The students will also be performing for our school on Wednesday, April 27th at 2:30 p.m. Please check with your child as they brought home their part last week. Practicing this regularly will make the words easier to remember when standing on the stage in front of everyone. We are excited for this jungle of a production!
Lory’s Place Run, Walk, Rock: The 17th annual Run, Walk, and Rock to support Lory’s Place is coming up on May 21st. It is a fantastic family event that supports the services of Lory’s Place. If you are not aware, Lory’s Place, named after a former Lincoln parent, is a wonderful grief center that is active in our school as well as 56 other schools in our area helping children who have had someone special in their life die. You can register here.
