Word Work: Our class will be learning to form plurals by adding -s, -es, or -ies to words such as rocks, wishes, boxes, and puppies this week. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 20 practice list for the week.   Music Performance:   The students have begun practicing together on stage. We are watching the Nutcracker today in the gym grades 2-5 12/16 We have   gym. 12/17 We have music. We are going to the high school today for the Holiday Concert.     Word Work: Our class will be learning the -r controlled e, i, and u syllable pattern this week. Our syllable pattern will show up in words like smart, shark, start, and market.  Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.
