Word Work: Our class will learn words that follow the long e digraph syllable pattern this week.  Long e digraph syllable patterns use the following vowel teams ie, ea, and ee. The following words are examples of this pattern chief, stream, and sneeze.  Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to practice the long e digraph word list.


Halloween Party: We had a lot of fun at our Halloween party and walking in the parade. Thank you so much for all your wonderful donations and support.


Book Order Update from Scholastic:

Since our winter break begins December 17th, I am not comfortable placing a new order until the first of the year.  I am sorry if this is an inconvenience for anyone but I am concerned gift books might not be delivered on time.


Google Classroom:  Just a reminder our Google Classroom has our weekly plan posted each week.  Students may use this plan to stay connected to our classroom when they are not able to meet in person.  


Cold Weather:  Sadly our days are becoming cooler.  Please remember your child is outside up to 4 times a day with gym and 3 recesses.  If the outdoor temperature is below 60, they must have long sleeves.  Please send them in layers so that they can stay warm.

                                  The class filled the bead jar.  They voted for an Everything Goes Day with an electronic toy day, pajama day, something soft day, time for a read in, and safe candy allowed (no tree nuts, no peanuts, and no eggs).   If this impending weather causes a snow day we will do this next Friday.  It will not be moved to Tuesday due to that being our Twosday celebration.  Please email me if you have any questions.  Thank you!

Word Work: Our class will be learning to form plurals by adding -s, -es, or -ies to words such as rocks, wishes, boxes, and puppies this week. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 20 practice list for the week.   Music Performance:   The students have begun practicing together on stage. Here is a link to the music blog for access to everything about the play. We ordered the new hats shown on the blog and are excited for how it's going to look.
