Word Work: Our class will continue learning about the r-controlled /ar/  syllable pattern this week. Our syllable pattern makes the sound as in  beware, rarely, and prairie.    Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week. 


Parent /Teacher Conferences: Conferences will be primarily done on an  "as needed basis" for students needing additional academic, social, or emotional support.  A conference note will be coming home this week for all parents to complete and return to school as soon as possible.  This information will help me schedule conferences.  


Devices:  Please, please, please make sure your child has his or her device and that it is charged each day.  For some activities we are counting on those devices and a delay in learning takes place without them.  Thank you so much!!!

                                  The class filled the bead jar.  They voted for an Everything Goes Day with an electronic toy day, pajama day, something soft day, time for a read in, and safe candy allowed (no tree nuts, no peanuts, and no eggs).   If this impending weather causes a snow day we will do this next Friday.  It will not be moved to Tuesday due to that being our Twosday celebration.  Please email me if you have any questions.  Thank you!

  Weekly Update Week of April 18, 2022   1  4/18     We have Media Center. 1  4/19   We have art.     4/20   We have a late start.     4/21   We have gym.      4/22   We have music. Word Work: Our class will be learning to form plurals by adding -s, -es, or -ies to words such as rocks, wishes, boxes, and puppies this week. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns.  Spelling City is ready for students to access the Unit 20 practice list for the week.   Music Performance:   The students have begun practicing together on stage. Here is a link to the music blog for access to everything about the play. We ordered the new hats shown on the blog and are excited for how it's going to look.
